According to eXtreme power calculator my beast only needs a little over 400 Watts. Is that about right? I gauged my current comp and it only uses about 220 Watts :O. I was gonna buy a PSU for the new comp and was thinking of 600W so I have a little bit of breathe room and ability to upgrade parts later down the road. My soon to be comp is in my sig (or will be in a couple minutes) so let me know what wattage you suggest and if the PSU I linked is reliable.

I would be more worried about the amps on the 12v rail, which with the 4870 I would assume is pretty high. 38 amps split over 2 rails seems really really low, I don't think it can support the 4870. Even the 8800gt can draw 26 amps.

Corsair 650 watt - $110

If thats too much money

Corsair 550watt - $98 ($78 after rebate)

OK, thanks for the help I didnt know anything about AMP's/rails but ill google them and remember from now on. Ill go with the 650 b/c 550 wont last if I upgrade my PC again.
