i ahve windows 7 64 bit right now and i need to have 32 bit because my program at school required 32 bit but i didnt think i would matter but apprently they dont know if the programs will work with 64 bit, do i need to buy a new os or can i do something else?

Well you dont have to buy a new OS. What you can do is right click on the program icon and then go to "Properties". Then go to the "Compatibility" tab and there you can put a check mark next to " Run this program in compatibility mode for " and then select from the menu the mode you need to run the program.

my program at school is computer systems technician so it will be like all programs based around that

I have the 64 bit 7 also. Yes, sometime ya jump through some hoops with some the programs. the way i did it was a uninstall. put the cd in and right click the exe installation and properties, troubleshoot compatibility. there is a few options there. at least with the pro ver.

Maybe not. sometime jump through hoops and play. I would do again as mentioned and you will see option something like did not work.
another adventure. have to figure it out.

As far as the printer you should find drivers and support at the manufacture site. whats the model and part?

As far as making the programs compatible yes, did take time.
other options might be a phone call with MS if free.
help at microsoft is www.support.microsoft.com

People are busy here. going to school.
likely get more response later.

He could also run the driver installer program for the printer in compatibility mode just like any other program. Also try Windows Update for the driver.

could try going to start and right click computer then properties. goto device manager with the printer already hooked up and on. find the printer then right click find a better driver.

as far as the whole os thing, would uhh "getting a version of 32bit from a friend" if you know what i mean... and then using my serial key from my laptop work?

did the laptop come with 64 bit 7 installed? Do ya have a recovery disc or a recovery partition. If not i would say no.
I have a retail which has 32 and 64 bit option. Im positive you will not use the installation from a retail. even if it did work you would surely need the drivers for the laptop if you do not have them. then again im only guessing im right. I also think ya have to persevere and make it happen. learn it now or learn it later. been lots of good feed back.
