64 or 32 bit vista?

Hello,

I am about to get new Vista probably ultimate edition and I dont have a clue which one to choose if 64 or 32 bit.
I need the system to manage some low level programming, web coding and design, some graphics and rarely even some newest game titles.

My question is how is 64 bit compatible with software if its profitable to get one and have the benefit of bigger memory or to stick with 32 bit which is probably still more compatible today.

i say go for 64 bit because if you do go with 32 bit then you will be stuck with a copy of windows that cant use or see more than 3.3Gb of ram so any future upgrade plans you have for the ram wont be any good.

the 64 bit of Vista is great ive not had one problem with drivers or finding software that runs on it.

just make sure your processor is 64 bit,or it wont work.
 
i had the same questions myself and i went and got 64bit, no problems up to now :)

ah well apart from my anchient webcam which was a pos! only reson i couldnt find the driver for it was i lost all the box+instructions and there was no model number on it or anything
 
I use 64bit Vista on both my computers...never had any issues yet. Both are great operating systems. All software and hardware has installed fine without issues.

Laptop - Vista Ultimate 64 bit
Desktop - Vista Home Premium 64 bit
