6600GT on 4x mobo, slow?

Hey guys, I need help. My current graphic card has served me well for a couple of years now but lately it is bagging me down from high performance games such as Half Life 2 and Doom 3. So I am planning on getting a new graphic card (the GeForce 6600GT 128MB 8xAGP). But the problem is, my mobo only supports 4x AGP, so the card will be slowed down to 4x.

The question is, will the performance difference of the 6600GT card be significant between 8x and 4x AGP?

I'm looking at playing games like Half Life 2 and Battlefield 2 and other upcoming games in the future.

Not noticeable enough: the difference between 4X and 8X isnt as pivotal as the difference from 2X to 4X :)
