About 6 weeks ago i bought a Gainward 6600gt AGP 8x 256mb graphics card.
I installed it and up until now it has worked perfectly. A couple of days ago i downloaded Half-Life 2: Lost Coast and tried to play with the HDR feature turned on. The first time i tried to play my LCD moniter suddenly switched off and refused to switch back on. I restarted the computer and tried Lost Coast again but this time after only playing for 5 minutes the whole PC switched off and remained dead for aslong as my graphics card was left in. The power button did nothing and none of the PC's components fired up. It just did nothing. I checked for loose connections and inspected the card thoroughly but it seemed fine. After numerous attempts to startup i resorted to replacing my old Radeon Sapphire 9600 Atlantis. It works fine now but it makes games like HL2 and BF2 look horrible. I really need to get my new card working or else my PC is going to turn into a paperweight.

AMD Athlon XP 2500+ 1.9GHz
ASUS A7N8X-X
512mb RAM
Radeon Sapphire 9600 Atlantis
Microsoft Windows XP Professional
