hi i have a agp mobo and a nvidea 6800gt graphic card i have just bought oblivian and the game set everything on high ,but the game was slightly laggy so i have turned everythig down i was wondering if anyone has any surgestions on what to set my graphic card to for best performance on the game or would i be better buying a new agp graphic card i was thinking this one
XFX GeForce 7800 GS Extreme Edition 256MB, or would that be a wast of money

I've never played Oblivion, so I can't comment on the optimal settings, but if you just fiddle around with them until you find a balance, it shouldn't take too long.

I wouldn't upgrade from the 6800GT to the 7800GS. It's not worth the money, IMO, you'd be better putting it towards a PCI-E mobo and video card.

I would suggest you to try these out ;) : http://downloads.guru3d.com/download.php?det=1356 Hope it fixes your problem because it sure fixed mine..

As it comes to the 7800GS or the best AGP card then Gainward 7800GS is the answer because Gainward basically sells 7800GT on AGP... It means that you´ll have 7800GS which has 7800GT core inside...That means you´ll have 20 pipelines and 7 shader units or whatever they are  and it has 512Mb on board... http://www.theinquirer.net/?article=30502

if your computer uses agp card, may be you just bring down some of your graphics, and try to play it...
because buying 7800gs agp card might be a waste of money...

i'd say 6800gt is good enough for now, for another 6month or so...?!
