6800GT or X850XT?

I'd say the 6800GT would be the better choice, but it would be helpful to know the prices.

The x850xt is better, I checked the difference between the 6800ultra and the x850xt and it came out better by about 10%.

I would also imagine that the X850XT would be SLIGHTLY better. You may also wish to look at the 6800GS, which is only slightly worse than the 6800GT, but at a significantly cheaper price.

I say 6800GT but im a big nVidia fan. I love mine!
You love it cause you have a SLI-Set up....take out one of those babies and then tell me if you still a fan of the 6800GT (not to say its bad or anything);)

well then, how much better is the 7800GTX 512MB Ultra then the x1800xt?

because the 6800GT is a great card, and if the x850xt is better.... im worried :P

I dont quite get what your saying...ill take a shot at it anyways:
7800gtx 512mb Ultra vs X1800XT 512mb = 7800gtx 512 better (but it has been stopped in production because of some faulty samsung chips)
6800 Ultra vs X850XT = X850XT better.

but the 6800Ultra is the best in class of the 6xxx series, and the 850 beats it, it just got me scared about the 1800 :P thats all, but what do you expect 1.8GHz memory, imagine that as your system RAM, thats some hardcore shit, give it a break :P but if my $700 card died, id be pissed

Ya, id imagine anyone that dished out that much money for a video card that dies would be pretty pissed. My card however i got on some random sale for $299 CAD. So i couldnt care less seeing as im getting a full replacment card from best buy themselves...once they get the damn things in stock.

isn't the x1900xtx suppose to have 48 pipelines or something? I just read that from somewhere from google, dono if its right.

Wait till NVidia releases a new chip. ;) I am pretty sure that it outperforms ATIs one..

And I wouldd choose 6800GT cause I have one :) no seriously X850XT will peform better in 3dmark but will it perform better in games?
some games just happen to run much better on NVidia....

The ATi will make a better one than that and then nVidia would make a better one than that and then ATi would make a better one than that and then.... Why wait until someone else makes a new chip, the other company will follow up with a better chip, just stick with a chip and ride it through. If you wait for something better to come along, you will be waiting forever since something better comes along every few months...

Anyways, I'd say the X850XT but it is pretty expensive and the 6800GS is pretty good but much cheaper. If money isn't a problem go with the X850XT, I've seen that the R4XX cores are excellent overclockers from personal experience and from others who have had good overclocks. You can usually OC them for a nice perfomance boost as long as your CPU doesn't limit the GPU. My A64 3200 has to be OCd to 2.6Ghz before my X800pro hits its performance ceiling where it wont go any higher in FPS.
