680i

The 680i has terrific features that the DS3 doesnt, but dont expect much of a difference overclocking wise.

For me I chose the 680i because it was the most future proof, with support for quad-cores, 1333Mhz FSB CPU's, SLI, 3x PCI-E x16 slots, lots of SATAII ports, etc.

How so? The DS3 is whats picky with RAM, and not wanting to have RAM that runs higher then 1.8v stock.
