5gig ram on vista 32bit? OMG! how?

i had 3gig before. 2x 1gb/2x 512mb

now its 2x 2gb/2x 512mb

i right click on "computer" propeties and it shows 5gb ram! holy smoke! how could that be? i thought vista 32bit can only holds up to 4gb?

this is getting strange. the psu in this machine is only 300w! on X850XT and its been over 5 months abd no blue screen no nothing. how can 300w handle X850XT? and now it holds up to 5gig! this machine of mine is getting weirder and weirder! in a positive way!

who have any idea of this? how can it be? after this ill try and install 2x 2gb/2x 1gb and see if it reads 6gig!

edit: omg! it reads 6gig too!

Windows 32 bit cant see no more that 3.25gb,it doesnt vary each copy they are all the same.

Yeah, your system isn't actually using it...it just says it's there. There is still the 3.25gb cap. Open task manager, click performance, and the physical memory section where it says total it will tell you whats actually available.

yup guess its true. task manager shows 3326mb and sidebar shows 3326mb. computer properties lied to me that i got 6gb.

I have Vista SP1 with 4GB installed and it only shows 3GB. WTF gives?

yeah wtf??? i got 6gig installed and it shows 6gig on computer properties.... curious why yours dont show 4gig when you have 4gig installed. i have sp1 vista also.
