Hello, I was wondering, what would a good budget pcie x16 video card be for a computer running ubuntu 7.10 and compiz fusion?

ubuntu is an operating system, it will have built in drivers for Nvidia cards, so that should be no problem. You wouldn't get official Nvidia support though, but from my limited experience with Linux, ALL my graphics cards worked without a hitch.

He mentions Compiz fusion, which is a bunch of plugins, not least among these are graphical tweaks. 3d desktop, special effects, cool little utilities.. I did a check and apparently it's less GFX hungry than even i thought.
