70 gigs open of 300

I only have about 25 movies on my computer and a bunch of songs downloaded but still how is it possible that i have used 230 gigs?? the movies are only like 700mb's each! There is definitely something wrong here.
Hard to say without knowing what is on your comp..
Don't take this the wrong way...but are you sure your not reading it backwards...70 used 230 free..

wow is that even a question? look through it all and check the sizes of the folders. assuming you have it all organized into folders like i do 
of course, i have like 75gb of music and 150gb of 4.5gb dvd backups.
OH! not to mention i install vista on my dual 80gb raid 0 array. that counts for 20-25gb right there. games take up like 5-10gb each too. on top of that, you probably have other programs like nero etc.. come on man! it gets used pretty quickly. i'd throw a 500gb in there and back up my videos and music though if i were you... whats a new one cost like $60 now?
