hey guys, i'm doing my first build and i just wanted to make sure this would all work together. also any suggestions or changes would be good but it has to stay around the $700 mark please. also what sort of cabling will i need for this or do the parts come with it? thanks for your help.

there is a different case i know other auzzies here use, idk the name but it aint that 'n, but a i5 2500k will be much much faster, and unless overclocking no need for a aftermarket cooler, and if you do go amd then you need to get a am3+ mobo for future upgrades, and i'd get a 555/955 for now so that in a month or 2, maybe 3, you won't have to sell a 200 buck cpu for a good bt less than you're paying, and don't forget that you need to get an os disk

You should get a better PSU.
Like any 550W from Antec/Seasonic/Silverstone/Corsair/Pc Power and Cooling/XFX,will be enough.

If for gaming -
Instead of the Hex-Core get a Quad core and then use the Difference in upgrading the GPU.

If for Video Editing or Encoding or other Tasks which require a lot of cores/threads -
Then the build is fine.

@Jonny the motherboard he is getting is AM3+ http://www.asrock.com/mb/overview.asp?Model=890GM Pro3 R2.0

and btw the 6770 is a rebranded 5770 with a slight upgrade with i think like a newer opengl or shading model or something, one of the 5770's for like 120 will be just as good though

Ok, im building a new computer so i can play battlefield 3. So it will be for gaming and video editing. Ill look at getting a different psu when i get home thanks mihir. @ jhonny. The 6770 gpu is $120 so ill keep it in but in 3-6 months ill probably get a 2gb one. Thanks

i know the 5770 is supposed to be a super overclocker, so it should be too, then throw them in Xfire and you'll be beasting just about anything for a good while.

Oh woops, i forgot to write it but windows 7 64 bit is included in the $700. And i think ill stay with the 650watt psu so that i can upgrade the gpu. Would the parts come with all the necessary cabling and screws or will i need to get them?

no, what he was saying is that that isn't a good quality psu, it is more lickly to fail or fry, if fry it will take the entire computer with it, and the actual wattage is lower than what it says on it too, a cheaper psu is the biggest mistake to make other than incompatible parts

Ok, i have been looking around and it will bump up the price a bit but ill get the antec 620watt high current gamer. Is this a good site to get it from?

620w is overkill for a single gfx card, and won't run 2, not sure why they make them, you want anything from a 500 minimum to a 600 max to keep a good price and newegg is the best site for any computer parts in the u.s., along with tigerdirect, they got the prices and tons of specials, but what is your current budget and needs, as in what will this be used for exactly, and we can recommend what parts to get.

$750 is max and im using it for video editing and gaming. im in aus so basically pccasegear is what i use. i want the 620w so it will still be good for when i upgrade my graphics card in the future, probably around 6 months.

pccasegear.com is an amazing site.
620 watts is probably good if you want to upgrade to a serious GPU sometime in the future; i'm pretty sure you can go CrossfireX with the 6770 and still be within the limits of that power supply. otherwise, looks like a pretty good build for what you do.

they come with them.

Your motherboard will probably come with a few SATA cables, your case has all of the front panel connectors on it, and your PSU, obviously, has the cables for power

So i wont need to get a gpu cable? Im guessing if i go hdmi ill obviously have to get a hdmi cable. Also what do you think of the build? Thanks!

Some graphics cards will come with a cable, however you should already have one from your current monitor?

Yes i do but dads going to buy that computer off me for my sister, but i guess worst case is ill just take that cable and she wont have a pc for a week. Thanks for the help, ill be ordering the parts within a week ill be sure to post my pc up once i build it, thanks again!
