So 2 things...after reading around the forum and looking at the new stuff coming out I decided to hold out with my new system till the quad-cores come down to a good price.

So I need 2 things sadly. I need to find a fan replacement for my 2nd Nivida 7600GT 256mb GPU.
Also when I took the fan out of my heat sink to see why it was making such a horrible tick sound I rubbed off some strange Grey clay in cased around the GPU's chip (was on the heat sink tho)...since then my core temp on my 2nd GT goes up faster and avg temp while idle is about 6 degrees higher. I can only guess its some form of heat barrier so what can I get that I can throw on it?

Also I checked my local stores and sadly the only place other then Best Buy (and the idiots they call the geek squad) didn't carry any fan replacements.

So any does anyone here where I can get what I need? Thanks :)

Thank you very much was wondering what it was called.

Also after looking around and making a post on the Nivida forums it would appear I need to get a new fan/heat sink for my GPU. They said this one was good...and should drop the temps by 10 degrees from the stock that came with the 7600gt

What do you all think?

Looks kinda strange to me was not sure it was even from a gpu till I was reading the installment notes.
 
I'd go with that, it looks slick. That strange grey clay is called thermal paste or compound if you havent found that out by now and yes it does help keep the gpu cooler.
 
Well I don't really care to much for the look tho it does look unique for sure...plain look is fine long as it does the job I ask of it is all I care about :)

But looks like its the way to go I was hoping I could just get the fan from Nivida for 5 bucks or something....don't wanna spend to much on it since in 6 months or so I will be upgrading my system.

So thanks for the info guys...I wont be ordering it till Monday so if anyone has any info on this fan/heat sink thats good/bad lemme know.
