7600gt or 850xt

850xt by a ways. the 850 pro was the competing card for the 7600gt. and i still picked it up vs the 7600gt.

check these charts out

http://www23.tomshardware.com/graphics_2006.html?modelx=33&model1=529&model2=565&chart=206

3dmark favours the 7600gt.. but wth.. almost every game the 850xt wins in on any setting. and i read up allot on this, the 850xt has 50% more minumum fps in allot of situations. so way less hiccups than the 7600gt.

edit: if you're playing at 1024x768 or less.. go with the 7600gt, it wins, but i dont really know anybody who games at that res.

I would get the 7600gt. The x850 generates a ton of heat (thats why most models have a slot cooler attached). That and i hate ati due to lack of linux drivers.

I had the X850 Pro and it was a great card, could play FEAR maxxed out fine! Don't know about the 7600 though, never had or seen one...

I don't think that X850XT is better than 7600GT

Here are some benchmarks

7600GT outperforms X850XT in many cases

doesnt support dx9? my X800GTO is dx9, how could that not be?

I think he said DX9c, not DX9

DX9 and DX9b = Shader Model 2.0

DX9c = Shader Model 3.0

There are many games that don't run on SM2.0 video cards like X850XT.

Rainbow Six: Vegas, BioShock, DiRT, Medal of Honor: Airborne, Lost Planet and Splinter Cell: Double Agent will not run on X850XT but they will run on 7600GT
