7800 GTX Cooling

Hi Everybody

I bought a Leadtek 7800 GTX some months ago, but I think it has some high temperatures. So, I'm thinking about buying new cooling for it. But, I just don't know which fans are good. I just want it to be effective. Effectiveness is the most important thing. It must be able to cool down my Graphics Card as much as possible. And, I would like it to be fairly cheap, 50$ is max price. Sound is not a big problem.

Thank you

like liuliuboy said the arctic cooling nv silencer 5 rev3 is great but if u plan to sli then the arctic accelero x1 is good also. they are quiet, cheap and cool very good.

those temps are actually quite nice for stock cooling. i had mine overclocked with the fan OFF and it was 70C and doing fine. i turned the fan back on and of course temps dropped dramatically... however what i really need is more voltage, but im happy with what i have :)
btw i have an NV silencer, and yes it dropped stock temps by 5-10 Celsius and keeps case temps nice and cool in comparison with the stock heatsink as well.

Hitting the high temperatures...

Hey Everybody

So, here I am again. I've seen your answers, and I've decided to bring up some numbers from some logs I made. It's the temperatures from my CPU, System and GPU that matters.

This is the temperatures from The Battle for Middle-Earth II Demo. My settings were 1280x960 with everything on highest detail level.

This is the log from SWAT 4. My settings were 1280x1024 with everything on max detail.

My CPU temperatures are quite okay, but as my high GPU temperature starts getting higher, and finally reaches the 95 degrees, I tend to get worried. I think this is to high a temperature, and would like to cool it down some.

I'm thinking about buying the Zalman CNPS-7700 Cu for my CPU, and the Arctic Cooling NV Silencer 5 rev. 3 for my GPU. Are those okay?

Ya those temps getting into the 90's isn't good at all like i said before check out that Arctic Cooling NV silencer 5. It will also lower your CPU temps cause it doesn't shoot the hot air back into the case it shoots it out the back of your case.

So could I buy this to OC my video card and CPU? My CPU = AMD Athlon 4200+ Dual Core, GPU = XFX 7800 GTX .. I've been worrying about OC'ing them without proper fanning.

Well ya you would buy that to overclock your video card, but its not gonna drop your CPU temps dramatically. I'm talking about 1 or 2 degrees C. You need a decent heat sink and fan for some good overclocking on that CPU, but for overclocking the video card that is perfect.

Fury, have you thought about why your temperatures are getting so high? Perhaps you have a defective card...

Any suggestions for OC'ing a 4200+ to possibly 3 GHz? How much will it run me? Thanks!

LOL, i doubt highly that its possible. I owned a 4200 before my optie and the highest i got was 2.7 and i had a very good stepping.

What made you ditch the dual core for an opty with less ghz?

Hey Everybody

I hadn't really thought about that my card could be defect, but it's certainly an opportunity. But, have you got any specific reason for asking, since I doubt that Leadtek is going to help me with my card, if I only have high temperatures to show them.
