7800GTX or 7800GT ?

Hi,

I'm building a gaming pc and at first I was sure I was going for the 7800GTX, but now I don't know... Is there a big performance difference? becasue the difference in price is huge. So, should I buy the 7800GT and with the extra money buy a better CPU?

What do you think??

well if u want the best of the best go with the 7800gtx. i personally would spend the extra money to have the gtx and the name.
 
Thanks. That's why at first I was keen on the 7800gtx. However, my big doubt is what is better: spending more money in a better graphic card or in better cpu?

Well that would really depend. What is your budget and what CPU are you considering?
 
Well if your getting the X2 3800, there will be a small bottleneck if you buy the 7800GTX. But that can easily be taken care of by a bit of overclocking if you want. However, if buying the 7800GTX will prevent you from buying the X2 3800, I would go with the 7800GT

So this are the two possibilities:

A) The 7800GT so I can buy the X2 3800+.

B) The 7800GTX and for cpu the Athlon64 3700+

What do you think is better?

A)If you multi task and game
B)if you don't multitask and purely game


If you are playing at 1280x1024, the diffrence in the GTX and GT is literally 1-5 fps.
