Maybe someone can help me,
I have a 780i motherboard with 4gb ram and an Intel 3.0 dual core cpu. For the last year I have been running with the default cpu fan that came in box. But when I pulled the fan off and installed the heat sink for my new liquid cooling I thought I heard a little "click". After an install of Ubuntu 9.04 I thought I was all set but now when I touch the box the system reboots. I found that if I pressed on the top of the mother board where what I assume are inductors the board reboots if an OS is loaded and freezes if in BIOS. I have bench tested with nothing but the board, psu, 1gb ram stick, and a 256mb pci card and was able to replicate the issue over and over. I want to know if this might be a cpu problem or a board problem before I buy a new 780i. Any ideas?
