when does it come out? anyone have a specific date? should i get a 7800gtx or wait for 7900?

the 7900 series (assuming that's what it will be called) will be a lot more expensive than the gtx... but you'll also be getting a lot better performance. look at benchmarks for the x1900xtx.. the card will be better than it.

7900 series>x1900 series>gtx

i've read the 7900 series cards will come out some time in march..

The tomshardware link only shows the X1900 and the 7800 series cards, how do you know that the 7900>X1900XT?

he doesnt really kno but it can be assumed that it will be better. after all nvidia wouldnt allow ATI to beat them at having the best GPU and it would have the latest technology.

Meh, what can they do about it? It's a fairly even race, sometimes nVidia is in the lead, the next time ATI and so on. Both sides work their asses off to take the lead, and trying to keep it...

der nvidia's card will be better. one ups the other, and then the other ups them. 1 of the 2 companies typically have the best card 1/2 the year, the other has it the other half.

Well... the 9700 kept it for a year I think =P hehe thats what Im running =P It was ahead of it times with one generation above the rest.

Haha I know how you feel bro:( . When I get my new computer I will be the happiest man in the world. It won't be the best, but pretty damn good. By the begining/middle of summer will the 7900 still be a hott card? Thinking of getting the GT... not sure if I will have enough money for the GTX after I buy my AM2 CPU
