I just recently ordered the hardware for my first computer build. I was lookig over the detaled specs for the 7900GTX and it states that it needs.

> A 400W PCI Express complaint system power supply (with 12V current rating of 26A or more)

Well I ordered a Rosewill RP550-2 ATX 2.01 550W Power Supply
This is the output ratings for the power supply

+3.3V@30A, +5V@50A, +12V1@18A, +12V2@18A, -12V@1A, [email protected]

Is this power supply compatible for the vid card? 550W is enough, but what about the voltage/amperage?

your fine. you have 36A on the +12V. the PSU has mutiple +12V rails so you just have to add them up to get your total amps on the +12V

dude i have this same question i juss ordered a 7900gtx and for some reason the evga one states 450 minimum watt i have a 430 watt one but i dunno wat the amprege is and all that other stuff. when i find out il post it. but ne ways i dont understand why the evga one says 450 min and other 7900gtx are at 400.

ASUS EN7900GTX/2DHTV/512M Geforce 7900GTX 512MB 256-bit GDDR3 PCI Express x16 Video Card - Retail

The above card is what I got from newegg.

Did you get yours for $599 from newegg? I saw that it requires 450W for single card, and 500W for dual cards. I dont know if this has anything to do with it, but maybe it is because of the higher MHz on the core clock and memory clock.

The other EVGA 7900GTX on newegg for $539 requires only a 400W PSU.

I just installed my new PC. What settings should I set for Image settings, antialiasing settings, and anisotropic settings for best gameplay?

Should I leave my screen refresh rate at 60 or put it at 75?

At 60 you will probably notice flickering most of the time. Set it at 75 or above.
