I currently have a nVidia go 7950gtx on my laptop, and when both srtest.com and cmd>dxdiag ran, it showed I had dx10 on my comp, but i had always assumed my card was only dx9c, can anyone explain this to me?
Can't seem to find a reliable answer on the internet.
The card can only support DX9.0c, but you can still install DX10 since you have Vista. Although since your card doesnt support DX10, you cant take advantage of anything DX10 has to offer.
Just because you have DX10 installed doesn't mean that your hardware supports DX10, my P4 with a MX440 says that also. Just as a rule of thumb only the 8 series for Nvidia support DX10 hardware-wise.
