7950gx2 Vs 8800gts

Hey guys like a silly goose I dropped a $500 bomb on the 7950GX2 3 months ago... it works awesome and I am really loving the performance it gives me in Rainbow Six Vegas. But awesome DX10 games are only a few months away... So the question is, while I still have the chance should I sell it on ebay and get a 8800GTS? Just something I have been thinking about....

Here's a nice chart for you to see the performance difference.

Considering a GTS is better in every way when compared to a 7950GX2, demand will be very low, and you probably wont get much for it. Probably best to sell it as part of a complete computer system.

IMO I would keep the 7950GX2 until the R600 is released, then you could pick up a G80 for alot less, or buy the R600.
 
true... I'd stick with the 7950GX2... ;) not worth it yet.. the difference is too small :) wait till the DX10 games are actually released.. then more cards will be around too.

or sell now while he can get money for it, then get the G80 for a lot less when R600 comes out lol...
R600 coming out would drop the amount of money someone would pay for his card too...

i mean, my 7800gt does me fine in the games i play... highest quality at a good FPS all the time :D
 
No one really cares....If you know what he meant, as the rest of us did, i don't see the point of saying anything.

Anyway, i agree with the rest, you should just wait unless you have a eVGA card and still have the step-up program as a choice.
 
If anyone wants to sell their GeForce 8800GTX for $100 once the R600 comes out I'll be glad to take it off your hands....$100 sounds good for me for obsoleet technology...

How would the G80 be obsolete when the R600 comes out?
