8-Series in Laptops?

When should we be expecting mid-range 8 series graphic cards in laptops? I know ASUS has a few but I was wondering about other major brands.

The eight M series is only in three laptops I know of.

ASUS A7S- Uses 8600M.
TOSHIBA Dynabook Qosmio G40-Uses 8400M.
HP Pavilion dv9000-Uses either 8400M, or 8600M.

The 8M series consists of 8400M G, 8400M GS, 8400M GT, 8600M GS, and the 8600M GT

Is the 8400m G worse than GS? That's what I'm assuming.......
