SpringWater Member Dec 4, 2012 #1 I've got a gts 250 and an old 8400gs. Would the 8400gs bottleneck the gts 250 if I set it as a dedicated physx card? (both of them have 512mb of ram)

voyagerfan99 Master of Turning Things Off and Back On Again Staff member Dec 4, 2012 #2 The 8600GT, 9600GT, or 9800GT would be better options for PhysX as they're faster cards.
SpringWater Member Dec 4, 2012 #3 I know they would be, but I've got an 8400gs right now in my possession, and I was just wondering if I can use it as a dedicated physx card. If it will bottleneck my gts 250 then I won't. So is it going to bottleneck it?

salvage-this Active Member Dec 4, 2012 #4 If you already have one try it out and benchmark it against the 250 by itself.
FuryRosewood Active Member Dec 4, 2012 #5 its probably going to be too slow, you want a card thats fast enough, but not too expensive to complement your current card.
