Hey Guys,
Sorry I've been asking so many questions lately but I have a lot of questions.
Ok so I've probablly already said my upgrade plans but if you haven't read them here it is. 1. Buy a new case that tells temp. and has see through side panel 2. make it look cool with fans/led's 3.get 8800gt and 4. get 550 watt powersupply.
Ok so I have a 20inch monitor that is hooked up through DVI I have 512mb of ram on my current graphics card (8500gt) will I notice a difference if I go to the 8800gt with only 256mb of ram or should I just go the extra mile and get the 512? I just turned 14 and I have a budget I don't want to burn the bank.

Ram on the graphics card is really not THAT important. The core is MUCH more important.

So yes, upgrading to 8800GT 256 would help alot in gaming. It would still be worth it to get the 512 though, because in a high end card, 256 can be limiting especially at high resolutions or AA.

Yes a 8800GT with 256mb would slaughter a 8500GT with 512mbs. But yes if you have the money difference go for the 8800GT 512mb.

yeah if you can afford less then $200 total then an 8800GT is top of the line. however, the 8800GT 256mb for some reason is not very good at all, you would be much better off getting an 8800GS over that.

EDIT: this 8800GT is $164 before rebate, and only $130 after! oh and free shipping too.http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814121224

this 8800GS has 384MB of memory, (thats a good amount for a budget card with a good core) and its $89 after rebates. also this card would overclock like a beast, at least 150mhz more then stock: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814130332

this is almost the same 8800GS but the fan is slightly lower quality. it costs $10 more BUT it comes with one of the greatest games around, COD4: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814150294

the one i posted is better m8. superclocked doesnt mean anything except that they made it go like 100mhz faster at most, which would take you about three clicks to do yourself.

the first link i gave you has a much better heatsink on it though, that would cool the card itself down a lot better.

EDIT: and after looking at the one you posted, after rebates the one i posted up will be $30 cheaper... so yeah dont even consider that eVGA

Yeah, that eVGA would be a bad choice. It is barely even overclocked, and overclocking really isn't even worth paying more for.

Go with what others posted.
