8500GT or 7600GT.

but wont DX 10 games run differently making then run more efficient and faster thus using less processing power to run games

You think so? I'm under the understanding that almost everyone on this forum thinks just the opposite, that dx10 games would use MORE processing power. However, this isn't really going to be soemthing easy to determine until the first handful of games start coming out...

something like DX9 is blah blah blah blah think blah blah blah blah thing blah blah blah think

and DX 10 is like blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah think blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah think

i vote 7600gt

8500gt only has 500 more shader operation and 2k more vertex opertation..... the rest like pixel/texure fill rate is much lower than 7600gt. i believe pixel/texure fill rate and clocks determine speed.... determine frame rates and the shader/vertex operations determind stablity of a game that has detailed shadow/shader graphics.

games that use shader 3.0 or directx10 such as crysis will needs alot of video card power... its much much more than a 8500gt can handle. so you cant play directx10 games decently on low-mid end cards.... and you cant play current games like FEAR and dark messiah on high settings.... why get it at all! its handi cap! and im saying this same to 7600gt. both cards are handi cap! cant climb the mountain to the top end and cant climb the mountain to the ground....

both cards care shiiety for the quality and price. i highly reccomend x850xt for a hundred bucks over both cards! i got mine for 111.111 us dollar and i am very glad i made the right choice! i dont play shader 3.0 games i only play current games on max settings perfectly! and my 1.5gig system ram bo0st up the performance!

the answer to the question of what is better is.... 7600gt. anyway i wouldnt get neither!
