Hey does anyone have the 8600 GTS 512MB DDR3 HDMI DVI graphics card??? I know its not the newest Gcard but i wanted to know if anyone has any opinions on it????:):)

um its not a terrible card, only 32 stream processors, you can get a 9600 for about the same price and its wayyyyy faster. the evga 512mb gddr3 version of the 8600gts is decent card to be generous. your going to want a 256 bit card too.... more bandwidth

im not a really serious gamer so i only wanted something acceptable and low price:) and i saw the 8600 and i needed to know some opinions.

What games do you plan on playing before the masses turn out their cookie-cutter 8800GT recomendations?

Example: If all you ever plan on playing is WoW, an 8600GT would be plenty. Why waste money when you don't need to.
 
^^^ Exactly!! I have an 8600gt also b/c I dont need a huge card. If anyone gets an 8600gt or gts I recommend getting the xfx xxx zalman version if availible b/c they run the coolest and are factory oC'd.
 
I had a msi 8600gt it worked good for the money when i started getting into some more demanding games i bought an xfx 9600gt after rebates it was 124.95 only 25 or so dollers more than the 8600 and huge gains in performance i kept the 8600 for a spare card

If I ever personally bought an 8600GT, I would simply buy the cheapest or one of the cheapest possible. Why? It's an 8600GT.

It is a budget card first of all, why waste money on a better cooler or factory overclocked version when you simply don't need them OR you could have used that extra money to buy a little better video card if you're buying the 8600GT due to monetary reasons only.

I seriously don't get a lot of the advice given out on this board. It's like 25% of the people on here simply don't see any sort of big picture whatsoever. A bunch of 15 year olds randomly throwing out component advice with poor reasons to back it up, the best of which could easily be the simple fact that they own one themselves.

I have a $50 8600GT with a $20 after-market cooler. Which pretty much makes mine cheaper, cooler, and quieter than yours.
