anybody else been having problems with the new driver? ..fro i think the 9th ...i cant overclock with rivatuner becasue of it and it keeps cutting in and out

When I had my 8600GT I didnt use the latest drivers cause it caused problems in games. Try downgrading to older ones, that worked for me
