I am trying to choose between one of them. But thing is i dont know what exactly is the difference between either. And if their is a difference how big is it performance wise?

Yeah I wonder, all that looks different is the core speed a little bit. I wonder what one is a better performer.

Try thinking if you can get some extra $ within the next 90 days, because evga has a step up plan where you pay the difference between the old and new card ( you can only do it once and within after buying the card)

Nother question. If i SLI two 8600GTS 2gether that doubles the specs and they work as one correct?
Theoretically the specs would double, but performance gains arent anywhere near double. It's usually about 50-80% improvement.

If the game even supports SLi. I learned that the hard way on my old rig with 2 x 7600gs. Ran great on games that supported sli, ran ok on games that didn't.

And ya, its not a perfect 100% gain, but you will notice a difference. Just depends on whether the cost is worth it to get 2 or to get one nice card. After dealing with sli id say save for the better card if your looking at sli. Or as said above, go EVGA and step up to the better card when you have the money.

The only reason I went sli was because I got each 7600 for right under 40$ brand new well over a year ago after rebate. It worked great on the smaller monitor, but with the new 22" it just wasn't enough juice.

Most of the time you just have to looks at the price to see which is better especially when its from the same vendor or manufacturer. The 8600GTS has a higher bandwidth and also higher clockspeed so it should beat the 8600GT performan wise, that $10 extra is definitely worth it.
