8800gt $100
Galaxy KFA2 GeForce 9600GT OC $100
EVGA E-GEFORCE 9800GT Superclocked $157
EVGA E-GEFORCE 9800GT $132

i'm guessing out of all of those the 9800 superclocked is the best but is it worth the extra $57. i need a card that can run games pretty high at 1920 1200 because i have a 24 screen, i will be playing cod 4,need for speed most wanted and most of the games coming out

yeah, its the same, though it looks like it doesn't come with a game. it's probably 25-35% better than an 8800GT, so it depends what you want. 8800GT is still maxing almost all games.

most would say that it has the best price/performance ratio of any card out in that price range. but the performance of the 4850 and the 9800gt can be similar. its your choice but my vote goes for the HD4850.

no it isn't the GTX+ is suppose to be the competitor.

How much would you be willing to spend?

P.S. ATi cards for some strange reasons run really hot.

yeah, the 9800GT is identical to the 8800GT performance wise, it just has minor things like the ability to use hybrid power and the ability to run audio through hdmi.

I checked out the prices in the store link you posted.....some things are kinda expensive. Newegg Canada is going to open soon. When do you need the card? Can you wait and you will get a better deal I would guess. About time eh! :)

Case : XION II w/12” green cold cathode
Motherboard : Asus P5N-E 650i @ 1532 FSB
CPU : Intel Q9300 @ 2.875 GHz
CPU Cooler : Cooler Master Hyper TX2
RAM : Corsair XMS2 Pro/pc6400/ 4x1GB/ @800 MHz
Graphics : Evga 9800 GTX @ 760 MHz
PSU : Antec Neo Power 650w / modular cables

YAY~!!!! Newegg in canada! woot... more competition for NCIX so that only means one thing; cheap cheap and more cheap stuff.

my vote goes for the 8800gt.. the 9800gt isn't worth the money its practically the identical to the 8800gt performance wise. and the 9600gt doesn't perform as well as the 8800gt

The 8800GT I just bought comes with an HDMI audio cable so this problem is solved. The 9800GT uses the same architecture, the same core and memory speeds, the same shader processors, basically eveything as the 8800GT. Only go for 9800GT if you want to Tri SLI, which only gives you like a 10% increase in performance with the 3rd card. I would look at either an 8800GT for a high performing "budget" card, or go with the ATi 4850 for it's performance.

Btw this is the 8800GT I got. Very excited, it has good reviews and insane clocks, shaders overclocked too.

The 9800gt does not have tri-sli

anyway, dont buy an overclocked card total rip-off... xfx has an 8800gt for $120 thats probably the best deal. if you can get the 4850, by all means get that.

^^ Exactly... 9800GT doesn't have the additional Tri SLi thing.

Tri SLi

SLi.

See the difference?

Oh hmm sorry bout that. I read reviews about the 9800Gt having Tri SLI, maybe they were just rumors, I haven't seen the card yet. In that case there is no advantage to getting the 9800GT! Haha
