8800GT or 9800GT?

Which one of these two cards is better? A friend tells me that the 8800GT is better, but Nvidia wouldn't make a newer model if it's worse right? Because isn't the 9800GT just a remake of the 8800GT, with some more stuff?

sweeeeeet dude thanks. One thing

9800GT Framebuffer: 256,512,1024 MB

8800GT Framebuffer: 256,512,1024,2048 MB

What is the extra 2048 on the 8800GT? Is that better?

the 9800 GT can be overclocked further because of the 55nm, the 8800GT has 65nm

P.S. I have a 9800 GT, you will get support for this card longer than if you got a 8800 GT. It wouldn't be supported for as long.
It is your decision tho :P

I have a 512MB because that is the standard, the main things that matter is the core clock and the amount of stream processors (these cards have 112). If you are planning on using DX10 get a card with heaps of stream processors and you should be fine because DX10 mainly uses that.

Anyway... I would go with the 9800 GT 512MB or 1GB version; better support, it would also last a bit longer than the 8800 GT (age wise)
