8800GT or HD3870 ???

I am making a gaming rig sometime soon and would like to hear opinions about these two cards. Both are 512mb, the ATI is DDR4(impressive) vs the 8800GT's DDR3. I am not sure which to go with, any suggestions would help, thanks.

if budget is a concern, maybe wait for the 9600gt and see how that does? early benches seem like it's a great value for it's price

but considering it's not, or you're buying pretty soon, it's really a toss up. they're both great cards. while the gt will give you better performance, the 3870 will give you a better picture at the cost of a couple FPS.

either way, I think the deal above is really great and for it's price, gives the 8800gt the upper hand

if you are really torn between the two, are you an nvidia or ati fanboy? haha jk
