and below is what i got . 256MB zzzzz ...

somethingwent wrong ?

i run 3d mark 06 and i got about 5800 scores ..

hey bro . u sure about that ? . i got it from a casetrust shop in singapore .

can anyone comfrim what spencerpoyle2000 had says ?

I'm sure it's just a driver/software bug.

Make sure you have the latest drivers and DX and run dxdiag, then go to display and see what it says.

when i try install the driver where i got from there . my screen will blank for awhile and the mobo will bee once in awhile . then i jsut restart . and reinstall is needed

Graphical drivers are standard, they will work in their corresponding device regardless of you're physical location, or where the card was made. Are you sure you downloaded the correct drivers, for your operating system (whether it is 32bit or 64bit matters) and you're card?

If you installed the correct drivers I'd suspect some sort of software conflict..

i install an older version of card driver . before i install tat i have to install a intel chipset drive to update my mobo . if not i cant work with 4 x 512mb RAM . maybe thats where the conflict is . but the intel chipset driver only got 1 version if im not wrong .

Id check the driver issue. And type dxdiag into run and check what comes up there.

But you coulda potentially got a 8600gts with a 8800gts heatsink on it or something crazy if it wasnt from a reputable dealer. That 3dmark06 score is seriously resembling what the 8600gts/gt's get.

But that aside, I would check all your drivers and make sure there isnt a conflict anywhere.

i think the chances for the above is very low . Im running on a dual core not core 2 . when i try to install the latest driver my screen will go blank and the mobo will bee once every seconds . and i restart my system . if there is driver conflict how to find which is creating the trouble ? Does reformating help ? . when i first install the graphic card i cant get into windows . i have to remov 2 of my 512ram and run on 2 x 512mb then i can get into window install the chipset driver for my mobo be4 i can use the 4 ram together .

anyway this is what i get at dxdiag

I thought it might be a driver issue, Vista seems to be a bit buggy with some drivers when it comes to showing the total available video memory. Sometimes it says mine is around 1100MB, but now on XP it shows the correct 512MB.

well you can see by looking at the picture that it is using the system ram as improvised video ram, which is called 'turbo cache' or 'hyper memory' which is never used in the new 8800GTSes and used in cheaper models. i know this because my cheap 8400GS does the exact same thing using exactly 767mb of ram + 256mb of vram.

also look at this picture of what a 8800gts should look like http://www.itreviews.co.uk/hardware/h1196.htm
the picture on it dosent matter but if the cooling bit on top isnt the same as yours it is allmost deffently not a 8800gts.

the cooler and size is the same . maybe i'll registr my gfx to know its real or fake .

good idear, if it registers propely it makes matters more complicated. if it dosent register its deffently a fake and you should get a refund.

u said that u got it from singapore (soz 4 spelling lol), not being racist but its a dodgy place to buy things like hardware that could easily be modded or hacked to look like something else.
