8800GTS for $279?!?!?!

i cant belive how fast the prices have gone down. last i checked a 1900xtx was still $300, how can this be cheaper??? have they uncovered a better manufacturing production machine? or is n-vidia just crazy?

It's not that low, but you do know its the 320MB and not the 640MB right?

When the 8800GTS 320MB just came out, they were pretty much all priced at $300.

oh i didnt see that it was the 320mb i was thinking that it was the 640, and i was really wierded out about it lol

The 640MB arent too far behind, you can find them for around $375 after rebates.

Why is that hard to understand? It's an 8800... vs a 7900. Price doesnt mean crap. Any of the 8800 series are great performers.

I think hes just saying that it doesnt make sense that they wouldnt lower the 7900gt prices. But they also want to get 8800 cards in peoples' hands and it makes it look like a better deal.
