8800GTX or SLI 8800GT?

2 8800gt's, at $270 a pop, would be more expensive than a single GTX. In my benign and totally well meaning opinion, I would just get one. I would save the $300 dollars for a possible step-up. But to answer your question, two of the most powerful cards available.. as future proof as you're going to get.

Depends, if you are upgrading already from an 8800GTX then I would say this should last you a few more months.

if you are upgrading from an 8800GTX, just get one more GTX for less than the price of two GTs and SLI the GTXs. That would certainly outperform two GTs.

And SLi isn't even worth it.. You get a tiny performance increase...

One GT... That's all you'll need.

You don't get a lot of benefit from SLI. I would recommend you go with one higher end card over two lesser cards in SLI mode.

I bet you could OC the GT and it would beat the GTX stock. Also if you're so worried about having a good card. Why don't you wait a couple more weeks when the g92 GTS comes out? Also, in computer technology, nothing is really future proof.
