Think of the price .vs performance!

Not that good then, eh?

Here's my card vs the new 9800GTX

You should have posted them running at the same speeds, but yeah, they aren't all that special. IMO nVidia should have used the G92 in their 9 series, not replace the 8 series from a G80 to a G92, and keep the same numbering scheme.

I was really showing how you can save yourself some money and get a better card...

I agree on what you said though, I think it should be like this;

The 9800GX2 = Two 8800GTS 512's Underclocked - So, it should be called 8800GX2

The 9800GTX = An overclocked 8800GTS 512 (I have mine OC'ed higher too...) = So, it should be the 8850GTX (Because there is already an 8800GTX)

The 9600GT = (I'm not too sure, but I think it's right...) Is a heavily OC'ed 8600GT - Should be called 8650GT.

I doubt it. The 8600 GT didn't even have to use the 6 pin PCI-E power.

Good thread because i have said that i have heard bad things about it and i say that in some of the threads.

intel man has said to me that he has never had a problem and i just say that it is only what i have heard.....

lets put it this way. they are better, but they should not be considered another league, but a revamping of the current stuff. this isnt the difference from a 6800XT to a 7900XT, its much smaller.

The FLOPS on the 8800GTS is not right. There is a decimal point missing at the very least.
Code:
Core Clock (MHz)	Shader Clock (MHz) Memory Clock (MHz) Memory Amount Memory Interface Memory Bandwidth (GB/sec) Texture Fill Rate (billion/sec) FLOPS
650 1625 970 512MB 256-bit 64 41.6 416 GFlops
I know the one pictured is not stock but still, 227200 gflops is slightly high ;)

It sports a G94 (revised G92) core, definitely a different card.

The 9 series are that same cards as the newer 8 series, with small differences. They're simply "rebadged". The 8800gts is the 9800gtx. The 8800gs is the 9600gso, etc.

yeah the 9800GX2 is a pair of 8800GTS's. its all crap, i wonder what the hell Nvidia was thinking when they started marketing this shit.

They definitely should've completed the 8 series before even working on the 9 series. It seems like they just became anxious.

"Yes, I will take a monies for new 9 Geforces, iz good because one extra geforces makes it go even faster!"

Ok that's more lame than funny, but whatever. I have peered into the mind of the nvidiots and this is what I have discovered.
