I need help. My video card AGP 9200SE keeps crashing during games. Sometimes its after an hour or sometimes after 5 mins. Sometimes my pc restarts and sometimes it just crashes to desktop. I downloaded the latest drivers and direct X so i dont whats wrong. I even lowered the thing from 8x to 4x agp but nada. Help

Windows XP
AMD athlon 3400+

Card is AGP

Try uninstalling or disabling the Catalyst Control Center for a start. With that old a model any Catalyst version after 5.11 is "useless"! I found that out with the ATI Radeon 9550 model on the other build where the newer versions are for the newer model cards.

The 5.11 was the last for the 9550 which was a newer model. Do you have the original software disk? You may want to consider a newer model AGP card like the X850! That's a great gaming card and will easily run most of the newer Catalyst versions out.

okay, i downloaded the 5.11 driver. Uninstalled the old drivers and intalled the 5.11 one. However the games stil crash or turn the screen into a bunch of colors. I lower AGP settings from 8x to 4x but nothing. I have no idea why this is happening. HEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEELP

That's an older model card with the apparent lack of support needed for the games you are running. Which are? Games by Steam with the Source engine will require the latest ATI drivers for a card with an ATI chip on it. This is for the enhanced graphics seen in most but not all newer games out. Now you know that model card is too old for the games you are trying to run. It simply doesn't have the support for them.
