9600pro vs 6600gt on an older system

My desktop in my sig has a Radeon 9600pro. I was given a BFG 6600GT, would it make a big difference replacing my 9600pro with the 6600GT?

If it is an AGP card, then yes. the 6600GT has SM3, and is just plain faster all around. Use it.

The 6600GT would be better performance wise, and also as bob said, it supports SM3.

Won't make a huge difference though, your CPU will limit a lot of its potential.

Ok. I have a 350watt PSU and the amps are low on the 12vrail. Minimum psu for this card is 350watt PSU. I know i should get a better one, but not planning to since i haven't had any trouble so far. If i leave it this way, Could it damage my gpu or anything inside my computer?

No. If your PSU isn't up to snuff the worst that can happen is non-functioning devices. You'll be fine.
