Hi,

I've been running a slightly modified dell dimenion 9200 for a while now. I'm still a beginner modder, and have installed a intel core 2 q6600, some extra ram, and an nvidia 9800gtx+. I'm not getting the quality I want with my games and i'm looking to grab another 9800 gtx+. My problem is my motherboard is all out of pci slots, so i need some help on what motherboard i should look to upgrade to.

heres my computers specs

I've been looking at some nvidia nforce boards (specifically the 680i, because on a dual gtx+ review they were using it, i really don't know what i should be using) The problem is , if i'm correct i think the form factor of my pc is pretty incompatible, and odds are I'll need a new case.

I need help on what board i should be choosing, what form factor I need, if the board will support all my current hardware, and if theres a possibility for me to upgrade my ram to DDR3 aswell (if its even worth it or possible if i have limitations). looking in the under $250 range.

Some advice would be amazing! thanks in advance.

No chance of DDR3 without swapping to AMD or a newer Intel.

I think you'd probably be better of just grabbing a better single GPU. You can get a 5770 for just a little more than a 9800GTX:

You do know that if you change motherboards you have to buy windows again, right?

(unless you already have a retail copy...in that case, carry on)

so your saying I could buy a card slightly more than the 9800gtx+, and your saying it would give me a significant boost over 2 9800gtx+'s? enough of course to make a new motherboard a bad option.

im just trying to clarify.

and i have a retail copy of windows 7.
