so my gf is getting me a callisto 550 dual core for my birthday and an extra 4gigs of the same ram i have now :)
(yeah shes epic that way)

so ill be running 8 gigs of 800 mhz ram and a [email protected]

so my question is roughly would i notice a gain from a [email protected] with only 4 gigs of the same ram?

thinki worded that wrong im really exhausted sorry haha

Give it a try and see if it will unlock the cores. If not the 9850 might be faster in multi threaded pograms. Other then that the Phenom II core is faster then the Phenom I clock for clock. Plus the 550 will overclock alot better.

i want to TRY to unlock the 3rd and 4th cores but i dont think my board supports it its an ecs gf8200a
and im not sure what the SB is off hand

but there its an ok board as far as options go i havent seen anyone unlock the cores on it :/
id upgrade boards but i dont want to go with a ddr3 board i dont like it lol NOR do i have the money for new ram new powersupply and new ram haha

also are the stock heat-sinks for the 550s as gorgeous as the ones from the phenom ones?
so far i cant find a solid picture of one lol

I dont know about Nvidia chipset with ACC, if it works or which chipset would have it. Just look in the bios and see if it has a ACC setting, if so and you get the 550 just enable it and see what happens

they still should have kept them GOD were they gorgeous lol
thought itd be neat to have a normal sized heatsink instead of my big typhoon ahhaha
Anyone overclocking really isnt going to use a stock heatsinks, and the cheaper they can make them the cheaper they can sell them.

I'd use the stock 9600 heatsink and break every overclock record EVER!... even the old p4 that got to 8 just to piss everyone off ... i can dream right? xD
ill call it shoop da whoop overclock HAHA

^^^the effect of lots of energy consumed very quickly and hitting all at once HA
