In lieu of the Sandy Bridge recall i have decided to cancel my cyberpowerpc order and build on my own. Im a bit scared since im a total noob when it comes to building computers. I have seen the stickied thread and plan on following it religiously.
My first thought is to build a system around Gigabyte GA-X58-USB3 LGA 1366 X58 ATX Intel Motherboard and an intel I7 950. I would go with a Corsair 750w power supply, GTX 570 video, SATA II hard drive, basic cd/dvd...
alternatively i might see if Microcenter would still sell me the Sandy Bridge platform with an H67 motherboard (which are supposedly unaffected) and just install the drives in the SATA III slots.
Either way it will have Windows 7.
Anyways, what specific considerations do i need to make in building this machine? I have read the general thread but I am concerned about the level of effort here and the feasibility of a relative newb pulling this off?
I don't want to buy all the parts and then realize i cant do it !
Any help, reassurance, or warning off would be appreciated!!
