Hello all. I don't really know where to ask for advice on this so I thought I'd try here. I would like to get a gaming desktop computer for around $600. I don't think the games I play or will be playing are super graphics intensive, but I want this to at least be good for 2-3 years.

I don't really know much about building them, so I will probably have a friend do it for me after I buy the parts. My last gaming desktop was built by my ex, but I am not going to ask him this time. My friend compiled a list of parts that he recommends for me that totals under $500 (prices may have changed) and I'd like to get some opinions on it.

put $50 to a better proc. YOu can get the E7500, a Core 2 Duo 2.8GHz proc for $120. Then, get the 9800GT for $120 after rebate. Then chouse a slightly different mobo so that you have 4x240 pins DIMMS.
