My A: drive is not working properly and i dont think i am going to need it for anything can i disable it and how do i do it thanks

Go to the "device manager" (right-click My computer-->properties-->"hardware" tab
and look for your floppy there.
simply right click and "disable".

or if you're a techie dude just unplug the cable from it inside your PC

Yeah some motherboards refuse to boot up if you unplug your A drive and don't disable it in the BIOS, so make sure you do that. Floppy drives are just a waste of space, take it out and chuck it in the bin, I done that ages ago. Use USB drives, they are small and very reliable.

when formatting a new HDD that's SATA you NEED a floppy. I always keep one on hand. and yah, can't be USB.
