a few questions on hdd

i have an xp just to let everyone know

1.i can get more then 1 internal inside my computer right?
2.if i can, is it possible to put in my new hdd, and then transfer everything from my old one into the new one and then take the old one out?
3.how do i know what the max capacity for a hdd my computer can hold?

well i think thats all i can come up with right now. thanks
 
1. So long as there is room inside your computer then yes you can put more than one. And probably 99.9% of machines have enough room.

2. Yes it is possible to transfer everything from 1 hard drive to another. Depending on the manufacturer of the new hard drive, many have their own free programs that are used to setup new hard drives. So its just a matter of going to the manufacturer's website and downloading the software.

3. I can't remember the exact number for the largest that XP will allow for, but for some reason, before SP2, Windows wouldn't allow a hard drive over 137 GB. But if you've got SP2, then it shouldn't be an issue. Also, the program that you download to transfer files to the new hard drive, should be able to detect whether or not XP limits the hard drive size, and it should also be able to change the settings in XP to allow for bigger sizes. So you should be able to put almost anything in for size.

i want to get that hdd. how do i know if my computer will be compatible with it? i see the requirements at the bottom but idk what they mean. is there some program of something to see if my computer is compatible with that hdd?
also, i went to westerndigital.com and looked for the software to transfer my old data into the new one, but i couldnt find it. anyone know where it is?

The HDD above will work fine...there are currently 750GB internal harddrives available that will work just fine...as far as I know Windows won't limit the size of the harddrive..

As for transferring, you should be able to just drag and drop, however, you may run into problems transferring the Windows files..with that your best bet might be to just install a fresh copy of windows on the new harddrive, then transfer everything else over. However, I don't see why you can't just use both harddrives...it won't cause any problems, I'm using 4 right now...
