WIndows 10 A friend in need

I have a friend who has recently returned home after a long stay in hospital. She is bed bound and now lives in a converted lounge on the ground floor of her two storey house. Her desktop pc is upstairs, which she can no longer access. Because of her illness, she cannot remember the passwords necessary to access the pc. She is very anxious to access the content of her pc and I'm wondering if it would be possible for her to get back online via an ipad from her present location. I'm afraid I'm no technofile so any advice would be most gratefully received.

She can get online with any device providing there is wireless internet available. She won't be able to get access to the pc until she either

1. Remembers the password
2. Resets the password if its a microsoft account that is used to login
3. Or removes the password by using software that can do it.

Thanks John, I'll look into No 3 suggestion.
