a game off this list

battlefield 2142 singleplayer is horrible, but the multiplayer is pretty addicting...CoD2 was a great game all around single player and multi player and all...

Oh yeah the global rankings, pins, badges, awards and what not make the game really worth while to play. The awards / badges and what not give you things like mini missions to do while in game in order to receive them which make the game entertaining (the 8 knife kills in one round on an official server was hilarious for me in order to get that pin, kept getting caught on the first knife strike on a person :p).

The stats on your player are really detailed too. Check out the main EA website for it. You get upgraded weapons and what not also, including grenades etc.

Although as mentioned the single player mode really does suck. But to be honest, you get that addicted to online play, you never bother with single player.
