Is this good enough for bigger games such as L4D 2, mirrors edge, Assassins creed 2, CoD Mw2 at full graphics?

I heard 5770 is good aswell, and the price difference isn't as much here where I live. May I please have your thoughts on which is better?

I think a 4870 will run Crysis better than a 5770.

You'll want a 48XX or 58XX

I could be wrong though. Wait for someone who knows a bit more.

It's not all about crysis though :P
I'm more looking for a graphics that will run games better overall, if it's just crysis then it's not worth it.

You could certainly use Crysis as your standard, as if the card will run Crysis well, it will run most anything else well.

All you need is a 4890, unless you're bent on DX11, then you'll need a 5XXX series card.

I think i'll just go for the 4890, but I'll search for a second opinion as well.

Hi, I'm also trying to put together a gaming build - I'd really like for it to be able to handle most 3D games, but I use Second Life most often. I read that NVIDIA cards generally handle Second Life better than ATI - can anyone confirm this and recommend which card would make most sense for me (my budget is ~1100 for everything except a monitor)?

Thanks,
Enna

Yes, USD. I did create my own thread. I didn't realize that in this forum a particular thread was for the sole benefit/use of the starter - was trying to avoid bumping down other threads by not making a second one.
