its what the title says , but does anyone know a good AGP videocard by nvidia thats 512 mb and is under 140 $ ?????

For around that price, a 7900GS would be the card that I would go for. If you are willing to shell out abit more, then get the 7900GT. I know that there is definitely a 512MB 7900GT version, but I'm not too sure about the 7900GS. Wait abit and get the 8600, I don't think its worth it to get a DX9 card now.

I know they are out, I was just referring to the price, if you wait abit, they will become more affordable. I have tried a few 8600s and they are not too bad for their price range.

well i need the 512 mb for Vista Ultimate and when it says minimum of 128 i went triple of that, so an AGP video card , nVidia GPU and 512 mb under 140 $

You need to combine a powerful GPU with heaps of memory, there is a balance and having too little of one can restrict the other. 256MB - 512Mb shoud be fine. I would strongly recommend a DX10 can if you are getting a new one, a DX9 card just be a waste of money.

well i would love to have a card that supports DX10 but not too many out there, im kind of on a budget , its a bday gift for my bro and i just need a good graphics card by nvidia to play BF2 and other first person shooters, and needs to be vista capable

Most graphics cards are Vista compatible, at least I know that is true for Nvidia. If you want to play BF2 with decent framerates and eye candy, then I suggest you get the 7600GT at the VERY least. 256MB should be enough.

agreed, If you're on a budget you can snatch a 7600gt for around $100. Mine (overclocked) can play oblivion everything maxed, except self shadow and shadows on grass at a 1280x1080 With around 20 FPS (less in foliage with NPC's about). Just a bit of lag, but i don't mind. :)

keep in mind i don't have qarls texture pack or anything drastic but i have around 40+ mods such as better LOD, Eyecandies and some ones that are supposed to improve performance.

:D I'm happy

You dont need 512MB of VRAM. If your getting an AGP card, then it wont be powerful enough to take advantage of that anyways, especially if your getting one of the low/mid ranged ones. 256MB is more then enough for Vista.

hmmmmm well im sorry, change of plans, i forgot i have another mobo that supports pci e x16 video cards, can u recomend me a good video card under the price of 140 or even lower , needs to support vista, and has to have an nVidia chip

sorry and thanks.
