i found this computer at staples and wondered what you guys thought... it'll be used for slight gaming/AutoCAD...

hp pavillion dv5220us

1.83 Ghz Core Duo
2 GB 533 Mhz DDR2 (2 DIMM)
120 GB HDD
NVIDIA GeForce Go 7400 (128 MB Dedicated, 256 MB total w/ Hypermemory)

$1,049

the only problem i have is that when i punched the model number into google... the computer came up with much lower specs at the same price... but at staples the computer's model number matched and i looked up the specs via my computer and dxdiag... should i go and buy this right now...

Looks like a really good deal, however most laptops that are in stores have a really low battery. So you may want to get another one online.

the RPM is probably 5400 which might not be too great for gaming or autocad. also, what is the screen size? it mostly likely has a bad battery as well although you can just get a 9 cell seperately. and i am not so sure about HP. the only reason im so skeptical is because that seems like a way too good to be true deal. otherwise id definitely go for it. read some reviews about HP's laptops online first.

well... i am not the hardcore gamer you take me for... i play way old school games like starcraft still so 5400 prolly won't bother me... as for screen size i believe it was either 14.1" or 15.4" i guess i didn't pay attention, it sounded to good to be true... and i plan on getting a 12 cell that you can buy from hp (if i buy it)... but i'm still gonna search around... it ain't the only good deal out there...

Nope, it is 5400.

And the screen is 15.4"
5400RPM is fine for games, the only thing is loading times are slightly longer. I played games like NFSMW, CSS, FEAR, and many new games with my old laptop perfectly fine with a 5400RPM drive.

As for the battery, the 12-Cell costs around $150, however i would buy it new on ebay for around $65.

well thanks for the advice... and i hope it'll be there in a week... (i get paid on the 14th and i'll prolly buy it then)... i'll report back if i get it...
