My desktop recently broke. (I'm on shitty laptop)

So I need to get a new computer.

What are some good gaming computers that don't cost more than $1,000?

Games I like to play and want my computer to handle them:
Sims 3 and all expansion packs
Fallout 3
Fallout new vegas
Mass effect series
Dragon age series
L4d series
Dead island
Skyrim
And various other games

I'd like the computer to be able to handle them all smoothy with little to no lag and have a good running speed.

also, I'm not good with computer lingo, use laments terms plz c:

Would you be open to building your own? Check out newegg.com, great place to buy parts (if in america). It is cheaper than buying one prebuilt and it will be much more reliable, the part quality is much better and selection too

I would be willing to, but I wouldn't know what to choose. D;

a ibm with 4 mb of ram,ms dos(very excellent for those EXTREME games...) perhaps with a 256mb hard drive... such a good damn machine...

For $1000 which is enough for a decent gaming computer

what you will be looking at is:
4 GB or RAM ($25 - $35)
A quad AMD CPU clocked at around 3.0GHz ($150 - $175)
1GB GPU recommended from AMD as well ($150 - $190)
A motherboard that is compatible with AMD CPUs ($150)
500GB hard drive ($75 - $100)
At least 500W power supply ($120)
Middle-tower case ($50 - $75)
A set of fans to keep things cool inside ($30)

OR

You can always buy an already built system which will save you time (not money) but you dont have to worry about a thing.
