a little help please

how much are you looking to spend? for your case intel or amd would both work considering you do both gaming and multi tasking. i would go with amd because its cheaper on price and will lower your electric bill. plus the intel processor you got right there is an outdated socket.

the p4 your suggested is the s478, which is outdated :( if you wnated a pentium then maybe you should look at the s775.

gaming but also for multi-tasking
What type of games and what type of multitaksing, if your not doing heavy stuff or either then it doesn't matter which you get

sound like you are undecided between intel and amd... now i'm sure we had a post discussing this already. hmmmmm
where could it be.... oh yes

CPU101 (inc. Commentry)

You will never, ever, see the difference on your electricity bill. If you ran it 24/7 for a hundred years it would come out to be any more than £1 or £2 difference
Oh and the amd he listed is more expensive.
As a rule amd's are not cheaper than intels, unless you mean back in the k7 days ;)

a penny saved is a penny earned :)

Generally amd systems are less expensive not speaking about dual core. their processors are always 10-20$ cheaper.

i have a geoforce 5700 LE w/ 256mb, works well for me, and ive been playing counter strike and doom3. A lot of people seem to like like the geforce 6800, but there seems to be various prices on that.

dont bump after 1/2 an hour. we dont live here you know. We will answer the question as soon as we are able.

Plus dont ask a graphics question in a cpu section?

But anyway the graphics you listed is ok, but for sub $200, you should be able to pick up a x800, or 6600gt. Which are even better
